Welcome to Flagstaff Bordertown Dormitory! In this 56th year (since 1958!) of the dormitory founding, we continue to be inspired by the students and their passion for learning and reaching for goals beyond high school. We appreciate our continued partnership with the families who support their children’s education.
The dormitory is filled to capacity at 160 students on the first day of school, we are merely waiting on some students to check in. The dorm and Flagstaff High School work collaborate on student enrollment. The dorm had 58 slots for incoming freshmen this year, and 10 each in the sophomore, junior and senior classes. Applications for the next school year are considered in the month of July for the following year. Students having a GPA of 2.8 or more have a better chance of getting accepted into the dorm, as Flagstaff High is an “A” rated school and has a rigorous course of study.
Thank you, parents for attending the parent/student orientation on the student handbook; we had a successful first day of dormitory life with the students. My appreciation goes out to our admission committee who had all the paperwork completed before opening day.
We are expecting a high caliber year with excellent academic achievement and a lot of focus on accomplishing future goals. Today was the students’ first day of school at Flagstaff High School.
Our first three-day weekend is coming up on Friday, August 29th when we will close the dorm. Parents must pick up their child by 8:00 p.m. Email me at
if your child needs a bus ride to Tuba City or Holbrook, and I will relay the message to the residential staff. The buses will fill up quickly, so try to email ahead of time if you know you will not be in Flagstaff to pick up your child. The dorm will reopen on Monday, September 1st at 2:00 p.m.
You are welcome to the dorm anytime, and call me if you have any questions or concerns at (928) 637-4002.
